Gertrude Baines (born April 6, 1894) is an American supercentenarian who, at age &0000000000000115.000000115 years, &0000000000000110.000000110 days, is the oldest living person in the world according to Guinness World Records, since the January 2009 death of Portuguese woman Maria de Jesus.
An African American, Baines lives in Los Angeles. Just before her 115th birthday, Baines was hospitalized and treated for dehydration, but she made a quick recovery. Aside from her arthritis and inability to walk, Baines is very healthy.
